Description
Description
Pseudokinases have a kinase domain but lack key residue(s) classically required for phosphotransfer. Although potentially lacking catalytic activity, pseudokinases may still have roles in signalling cascades and complexes. (Adapted from FBrf0209106, PMID:21074407 and PMID:23863165).
Notes on Group

p38c was thought to be a pseudokinase due to divergence in kinase motifs (FBrf0182691), but has shown to have kinase activity experimentally by FBrf0226357.

The Gyc76C and CG42637 transcription units are completely duplicated in the iso-1 reference strain genome. The duplication is a polymorphic variant that is present in the sequenced strain, but does not exist in other D.melanogaster strains (FBrf0211329).

Nipped-A (aka TRRAP) encodes a pseudokinase within the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase related kinase (PIKK) family (PMID:31769470).

Slob was predicted to be a pseudokinase in FBrf0209106, but was shown to be active in FBrf0179534.

Wnk was predicted to be a pseudokinase in FBrf0209106, but was shown to be active in FBrf0222370.

The PSEUDOKINASES gene group is a collection of kinase domain containing proteins which lack or have been predicted to lack phosphotransferase activity. Pseudokinase classification by primary sequence may be unreliable - a good summary of the problems associated is provided by PMID:21074407.
