Description
Description
Pseudo-pyruvate kinases show homology to pyruvate kinase but lack key functional residues for this activity. (Adapted from FBrf0261725.)
Notes on Group

*u There are six paralogous genes encoding pyruvate kinase in D. melanogaster: expression of Pyk is ubiquitous and the encoded enzyme is functional; in contrast, expression of Pykl1, Pykl2, Pykl3, Pykl4 and Pykl5 is restricted to the testis and the encoded proteins are predicted to be catalytically inactive.
