Description

RabGEFs are Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factors (GEFs) for Rab family GTPases. RabGEFs regulate vesicle trafficking by localizing to specific membranes and locally activating their target Rabs. (Adapted from PMID:15731001 and FBrf0220596).

Notes on Group

RabGEFs are less well-defined than other GEF families. The RABGEF gene group is divided into the two main RabGEF domain families: DENN and Vsp9-domain containing, plus complexes with RabGEF activity and a group of other RabGEFs.
