RabGEFs are Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factors (GEFs) for Rab family GTPases. Vsp9 domain-containing proteins are found in a number of proteins that display GEF activity towards members of the Rab5 subfamily. (Adapted from FBrf0220595).
Notes on Group
Gapvd1 has a Rab GEF (VPS9 domain) and a Ras GAP domain. Phylogenetic analysis in FBrf0229300 places it as a member of the GAPVD1-like GAPs which are believed to link Rab and Ras signaling.
