Description
Description
Solute carrier family 7 (SLC7) members are involved in the transport of amino acids across the plasma membrane and are divided into the cationic amino acid transporters (CATs), and the L-type amino acid transporters (LATs). LATs are the catalytic subunits of the heteromeric amino acid transporters (HATs), which associate with the heavy subunits from the SLC3 family. (Adapted from PMID:23506863).
