Nuclear factor of activated T-cells (NFAT) transcription factors are sequence-specific DNA binding proteins that regulate transcription. These proteins are characterized by DNA binding Rel homology domain, part of the Calcineurin binding domain and a subset of amino acid residues that mediate direct interactions with the AP-1 (Fos/Jun) type transcription factor.
