Description
Description
Glucuronosyltransferases catalyze the conjugation of glucuronic acid from UDP-glucuronate to an acceptor, typically a small lipophilic molecule. (Adapted from PMID:26453144.)
Notes on Group

FBrf0228609 classes CG3253, CG9171, CG15483 and CG11149 as "N-acetylglucosaminyltransferases". However, CAZY classifies these into the GT49 family, whose characterized members are all glucuronyltransferases. Furthermore, human B4GAT1, which is orthologous to these fly genes, was initially characterized as a beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase but was later shown to be a beta-1,4-glucuronyltransferase. Thus, these 4 fly genes are included in the GLCAT gene group.
