ADAMTS-like proteins contain ADAMTS ancillary domains but they lack the catalytic domain and therefore lack proteolytic activity. ADAMTS-like proteins appear to have regulatory roles in the extracellular matrix, perhaps regulating ADAMTS proteins. (Adapted from PMID:19734141.)
