Description
The SMC5/6 protein complex consists of a Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes (SMC) heterodimer and Non-Smc-Element (Nse) proteins. It is important for genome stability and is required for homologous DNA recombination-based processes. The complex contains a SUMO-ligase and a putative ubiquitin-ligase.
