Description
Description
The Mpv17/PMP22 (Mitochondrial inner membrane protein MPV17/Peroxisomal membrane protein 22) is a family of putative pore/channel-forming proteins. This family is not well-characterised, but members are generally thought to act as non-selective ion channels/pores with a slight preference for cations. (Adapted from PMID:11590176, PMID:25861990, FBrf0257754 and FBrf0255401.)
Notes on Group

In D.mel, Mpv17 has also been shown to be capable of transporting uridine and so may have carrier activity (FBrf0257754).
