Description
Description
The ClpXP complex is a tetradecameric mitochondrial serine endopeptidase assembled from ATP-dependent serine endopeptidase ClpP and chaperone-like protein ClpX, subunits. ClpXP is involved in mitochondrial protein turnover and quality control. (Adapted from FBrf0236413.) The ClpXP complex is a hetero-oligomeric mitochondrial serine endopeptidase. It is assembled from ClpP, a serine endopeptidase that forms a tetradecamer from two stacked heptameric rings and the ClpX, an AAA+ ATPase unfoldase, which forms a hexameric ring that interacts with the ClpP protease barrel. The ClpXP complex is involved in mitochondrial protein turnover and quality control. (Adapted from FBrf0236413 and PMID:41593052.)
