Increased dosage of the Is locus suppresses the triplolethal, but not the haplolethal phenotype of Tpl. Altered dosage of Is in the presence of two copies of Tpl has no obvious effects. Is probably does not directly repress Tpl expression, but rather acts downstream of the Tpl triplo-lethal phenotype.

Lethality of three doses of Tpl can be rescued by dosage of the Is locus.

(Christensen and Dorer, 1989)

The lethality of triploids for the Tpl locus is rescued by dosage changes at Is.
