The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

In early embryos, Map85protein appears as a uniform, grainy network, underlying the cortical cytoplasm that surrounds each nucleus. At stage 5, Map85 protein co-localizes with long microtubules that envelope the nuclei. By stage 6, it increases in the cellular cytoplasm and co-localizes with the microtubule network. In stage 8, Map85 protein is present in dividing cells such as the amnioserosa, co-localizing with microtubules exclusively in interphase cells. In late embryonic stages, Map85 protein is enriched in axonal processes of the ventral nerve cord, a site rich in microtubules.

For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
