    Ncra\QS is a repressor of the Ncra\QF transcriptional activator, blocking its transactivation activity. It can thus be used to block Ncra\QF-driven expression of reporter constructs containing Ncra\QUAS regulatory sequences. Ncra\QS can be inhibited by the addition of quinic acid.
