Prof. M. Ashburner.
I shall be curating the abstracts from the 36th Ann. Dros. Res. Conf.
Your abstract, 16A, discusses a new nonmuscle myosin II heavy chain
gene. In your abstract you do not give this gene a symbol, have you
decided upon one? Do you know the cytological or genetic location of
the gene or the function of the gene product?
As this is a new gene the information will be very useful to users of
FlyBase.

The nonmuscle myosin II heavy chain mentioned in the abstract of
Merdes et al. of the American Drosophila Research Conference held at
Atlanta refers to the already known zipper gene.
