We find that the above P-mutation is allelic to mod(mdg4), since it fails
to complement our EMS allele mod(mdg4)20. The STS Dm0283 that was
obtained from this insertion by the genome project corresponds to genomic
sequences (intron sequences) ~1kb downstream of the presumed transcription
start site of mod(mdg4).
