I am writing in connection with your abstract for the upcoming Washington
DC ADRC:
'Cloning and characterization of the D. melanogaster homologue of SIR2'
You describe Sir2, a gene new to FlyBase. Do you have a cytological
location for Sir2? It is nice if we can keep as many gene records anchored to
the map as possible.

Hi Rachel,
Good to hear from you .... you guys don't waste any time do you?! The SIR2
homologue maps to position 34A on the second chromosome. I suppose I should
come up with a proper name before M. Ashburner re-names it ...yes?
