Hi Aubrey,
re dpps2:
The L&Z Genes entry on dpp is correct (since I wrote it).
What happened was:
The allele that had been called shv1 was renamed dpps1
		during the dpp Grand Edit.
The allele that had been T(2;3)shvS1 was renamed T(2;3)dpps2
		during same.
The alleles that were In(2L)shvS2 and In(2L)shvS4 proved to
be molecularly absolutely identical and we decided that
there must have been some stock keeping accident. We only
kept these as one mutant called In(2L)dpps4.
All other shvSx alleles became dppsx, with the numbers maintained
in order, except that shvS16 proved to be a dpphr allele
and was renamed accordingly. That's why there is no
dpps16. By the way, the capital S for shv alleles was
for Danny Segal, the discoverer; the lower case s for
		dpps alleles is for shortvein.
I trust this is more than you wanted to know.
