We have recently shown that polychaetoid and tamou are the same gene.
Two of our pyd mutations, pydC5 and pydJ2 map molecularly to the
transcription unit described as tam. In addition Xierong Wei in my lab has
shown that the heat shock driven tam cDNA (provided by Ryu Ueda) rescues
the phenotype of pydC5. We have also shown that pydC5/pydC5 embryos lack
reactivity with an anti-tam antibody. This data is currently unpublished,
but will be published in the near future.
