Expression of pydhs.PT results in mild inter-ommatidial precursor cell (IPC) patterning errors. IPCs are seen to cluster around the inter-ommatidial bristles bristles and three cells are commonly observed to share the 3[o] cell niche equally, where normally a single cell is found in this position. Sometimes a 2[o] cell extends to cover both the 2[o] and 3[o] niches.

Comments

Partially rescues the extra bristle phenotype seen in pydC5/pydJ14 flies, when exposed to heat shock at 37oC and rescues the lethality phenotype seen in pydC5/pydC5 flies. The simultaneous expression of pyd6-.hs and pydhs.PT produces a more complete rescue of the extra bristle phenotype seen in pydC5/pydJ14 flies.

pydhs.PT rescues the extra bristle phenotype of pydtam.
