Dear flybase curator, we would like to put some data as personal communication into flybase: We recently published a paper describing the molecular lesions in the gene dMi-2 (listed under the name 'Pha' in flybase): Kehle et al. (1998): dMi-2, a Hunchback-interacting protein that functions in Polycomb repression. Science 282, pp. 1897-1900. We now know the molecular lesion of the allele dMi-21, a recessive lethal allele of dMi-2: a base substitution (G to A) changes the wildtype 'TGG' codon for Trp 794 into the termination codon 'TGA'.
