Subject: Helping FlyBase: ADRC-756B Dear Leo, We are currently curating the abstracts for the upcoming 41st (Pittsburgh) Annual Drosophila Research Conference, for FlyBase. I am writing in connection with your abstract: 'Analysis of a putative Drosophilahomolog of the gene responsible for Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2.' You mention a gene that is new to FlyBase, Sca2. Do you have a map location for your gene? This is a data class we like to track, if possible. Thank you for your help, with best wishes, Rachel. Subject: Re: Helping FlyBase: ADRC-756B Hi Rachel, The Drosophila SCA2 gene maps by in situ hybridization to 88F-89A1. This localization is confirmed by in situ hybridization carried out by the BDGP using BAC probes that contain the SCA2 gene. We also have an abstract describing the Drosophila parkin gene. We haven't mapped the Parkin gene, but it is represented by bac clones that hybridize to 78B2-78D2.
