Gene or accession: CG9155 Gene annotation error Gene CG9155 has incorrect exon/intron structure. Comments: The splice donor of exon 2 disagrees with the experimentally derived sequence from N.S. Morgan et al (1994) J. Mol. Biol. 239:347 U07596. The consequence is a frameshift that disrupts the ORF. When corrected, the cDNA as reported by Morgan et al becomes join(90951..91009,92375..92519,92581..92696,92753..93215,93278..95541,95604..95 700,95781..95999) and the CDS becomes join(92394..92696,92753..93215,93278..95541,95604..95700,95781..95792) U07596 may possibly have an error in that when an attempt is made to align it against the genome sequence, the only alignment consistent with splice site constraints requires the insertion replacement of a GA between exon 1 and 2 with just A. Doing so extends the ORF further upstream. Application of the changes to your alternate predicted transcript also yields a different ORF.
