Subject: cDNA LD42024 suggests CG17600 and CG17602 are part of same gene
The cDNA clone LD42024 is assigned to the S6kII (CG17596) gene in the
BDGP database. However, the BLAST of LD42024.5prime hits CG17602,
which is upstream of S6kII and LD42024.3prime hits CG17600, which is
downstream of S6kII. If this is a bona fide cDNA, it would suggest
that CG17602 and CG17600 are part of the same transcript and
therefore likely part of the same gene. I haven't analyzed any of
the other ESTs hit by LD42024, to see if this is consistent with other
cDNAs.
