Isolation and characterization of Df(3L)BSC13

Df(3L)BSC13 was isolated as a P transposase-induced male recombination event involving P{lacW}Nmtj1C7 and P{EP}EP3212. The deletion was isolated as a rhove-1-e1 recombinant chromosome from the cross rhove-1 pp e1 females x CyO, H{PDelta2-3}HoP2.1/+; rhove-1 P{lacW}Nmtj1C7/P{EP}EP3212 e1 males. Polytene chromosome squashes showed the breakpoints 66B12-C1;66D2-4. Df(3L)BSC13 failed to complement the recessive lethality of T(2;3)E(da) and P{PZ}l(3)0392803928.
