The gene l(3)10418 was given a generic lethal name by Spradling
et al. (FBrf0111489) based on the semi-lethal phenotype of the
P{PZ}-bearing chromosome in their line 10418. The insertion has
since been mapped to the sequence and is inserted in CG31306. In
stock, the chromosome bearing this insertion is now viable and
fertile. No other lethal alleles of l(3)10418 are known. I recommend
that the misnomer l(3)10418 revert to a synonym for this gene and
CG31306 be used as the valid symbol.
