Subject: Isolation of P{GMR-GAL4.w-}2
The following information was provided to the Bloomington Stock
Center by Jean-Maurice Dura, Institut de Genetique Humaine, CNRS
Montpellier (9/05).
Perrin et al. (FBrf0155962) described the isolation of a P
transposase-induced w- derivative of a w+-marked, second
chromosome GMR-GAL4 insertion called P{GMR-GAL4.w-}2.
The original GMR-GAL4 construct was created by Laurent Fasano of
Marseille, France by by ligating an SpeI-blunted BamHI fragment of
pGaTB (FBms0003205) that contains the Gal4 coding sequence into
StuI-BglII cut pGMR1 (a derivative of pGMR; see Hay et al.
(FBrf0093501) and Kumar et al. (FBrf0160704)). A second chromosome
insertion of this construct was used in the screen for P{GMR-GAL4.w-}2.
