Subject: Helping FlyBase: ADRC-60886 Dear Garrett, We are currently curating the abstracts for the upcoming 48th (Philadelphia) Annual Drosophila Research Conference, for FlyBase. I am writing in connection with your abstract: Drosophila X11 regulates the amyloid precursor protein and plays an essential role during neurodevelopment. You discuss a fly gene 'X11' which we believe corresponds to FlyBase gene record X11L (FBgn0026313). Could you confirm whether this is so? Also, you mention a gene symbol that is new to FlyBase, X11B. Do you know which of the CG annotations X11B corresponds to? All the CGs have corresponding gene records in FlyBase already and we don't like to make duplicate records for what is actually the same gene unless we can't avoid it. The CG symbols become synonyms when an annotation is named with a more descriptive or functional name. Best regards, Rachel. Subject: Re: Helping FlyBase: ADRC-60886 Hi Rachel, Thanks for the email. The fly gene X11 (also commonly referred to as X11A, X11L, or X11Lalpha) is CG5675; X11B (also referred to as X11Lbeta in one publication) is CG32677. Best, Garrett
