P{UAS-Kaede.A} expresses Kaede protein under UAS control. Kaede photoconverts from green to red fluorescence upon exposure to UV light (365-410 nm). Kaede protein takes some time to fold. Expression in early to mid-embryonic stages is weak, but in larvae it is quite bright. Kaede can be converted nicely from green to red with a DAPI filter set or a 405 nm laser. Samples should not be exposed to bright day light before photoconversion.
P{UAS-Kaede.A}3 is a homozygous viable and fertile, third chromosome insertion.
