The following information was provided by Jim Kennison, NIH. l(3)72CDdL2 ( http://flybase.org/reports/FBgn0016902.html) is not a single lethal mutation within the overlap of Df(3L)brm11 and Df(3L)st-f13 as suggested by Melendez et al. ( http://flybase.org/reports/FBrf0085566.html). The chromosome carries at least two closely linked lethals. One mutation on the chromosome maps to the Arf72A gene (Arf72AL2). It fails to complement Df(3L)brm11 and is rescued by Arf72A+t10.8. The second mutation maps to the right within Df(3L)st-f13 and Df(3L)st-g24.
