In crosses here at the Bloomington Stock Center, I showed that P{lacW}l(2)k06324k06324 (FBti0006750) is viable in combination with Df(2R)BSC205 and Df(2R)BSC689, two deletions removing the P insertion site. Consequently, the lethality of the P insertion chromosome does not map to the insertion site.
Since the insertion maps within the transcribed portion of Pendulin (Pen), the symbol could be changed to P{lacW}Penk06324. Females carrying the insertion combined with either Df(2R)BSC689 or PenD14 are fertile.
