CycE^5L is a deletion generated by imprecise excision of P{PZ}CycE⁰⁵²⁷⁸ (within the first intron of the Type II, maternal, CycE transcript) similar to those generated in FBrf0129877. The deletion is larger than the deletion in CycE^7L (FBal0119677) but likely smaller than that in CycE^19L (FBal0119678). CycE^5L causes a regulatory mutation resulting in decreased transcription of CycE in the anterior, posterior and hind gut of the embryo.
