Fur1r249 is a hypomorphic allele generated by imprecise excision of P{PZ}Fur1rL205. It is a deletion of 853 bp starting 5 bp proximal to the P{PZ}Fur1rL205 at 3R:25473067 (R6) and extending proximally including the entire first noncoding exon of Fur1.
Fur1P127 and Fur1P215 are EMS-induced, strong loss-of-function alleles. Fur1P127 is associated with a G to A transition in the AG 3' splice acceptor site of intron 6-7 in the Fur1 RC transcript. Fur1P215 is a missense allele responsible for the substitution of Gly474 with Arg in the active site cleft of the enzyme.
