P{SUPor-P}KV00547 (FBti0178762) - Robert Levis of the Gene Disruption Project reports that the 3' flank of this insertion aligns with a transposable element (R1) that inserts site-specifically into rDNA and that the 5' flank aligns with 28SrRNA. Despite the fact we don't have a definitive coordinate, it seems clear that it is inserted into one of the 28SrRNA genes on the X chromosome (segregation mapping places it on X). We therefore suggest that this insertion be renamed P{SUPor-P}28SrRNA^KV00547 and be associated with 28SrRNA (FBgn0061474) which represents the 28SrRNA family.
