The following contains information about mRpS25A from Karen Schulze and Hugo Bellen, Baylor College of Medicine. It was originally reported that the lethality of the mRpS25A chromosome was rescuable by a duplication covering the mRpS25 gene (Dp(1;3)DC286), suggesting that the lethality of the chromosome was due to the splice mutation in mRpS25A. Subsequent experiments indicate that mRpS25A cannot be rescued by Dp(1;3)DC286, indicating there is a lethal elsewhere on the chromosome.
