The chromosomal aberrations Dp(1;Y)dx+1 through Dp(1;Y)dx+8 have a similar structure. Each chromosome consists of three X chromosome segments appended to the end of YL: a segment from 1Lt to the distal breakpoint of In(1)sc7 (FBab0004196) within the achaete-scute complex in 1B, a medial segment extending distally from the 6D8 breakpoint of In(1)sc7 (FBab0004196), and a segment of centric heterochromatin (Florence, 1999.7.22) (FBrf0109188). The distal X segment carries a wild-type allele of y (FBgn0004034), which enables one to follow the chromosome in crosses. The chromosomes were isolated in a manner similar to the Dp(1;Y)BSC chromosomes described in Cook et al. (2010) (FBrf0212582) using In(1)sc7 (FBab0004196) and C(1;Y)6 (FBab0022018) as progenitor chromosomes. Only the chromosomes Dp(1;Y)dx+1 and Dp(1;Y)dx+5 are still available, chromosomes Dp(1;Y)dx+2, Dp(1;Y)dx+3, Dp(1;Y)dx+4, Dp(1;Y)dx+6, Dp(1;Y)dx+7 and Dp(1;Y)dx+8 have been lost.
