The following information accompanied a stock donated to the Bloomington Stock Center by Leif Benner and Brian Oliver, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
Two mutations were introduced on FM7c by CRISPR-mediated mutagenesis.
cvWJB: Deletion of bases X:5691940-5691946 (7 NTs), insertion of 'AGGA' at position X:5691940 . This converts Ser at AA position 90 of cv into an early stop codon, affecting all cv isoforms.
fPDB: Deletion of bases X:17279110-17279114 (5 NTs), resulting in frameshift with early stop codon 40 AA away, effecting all f isoforms. It's a strong f mutation.
This balancer variant will be distributed by the BDSC with short genotype FM7c, cvWJB fPDB.
