The following evidence suggests that CG43324 is an as yet uncharacterized G-protein gamma subunit: 1. It contains the InterPro signature "G-protein, gamma subunit, IPR001770" that is diagnostic of gamma subunits, and which is only found in the two other characterized D. melanogaster gamma subunits, Ggamma1 (CG8261) and Ggamma30A (CG3694). 2. DIOPT predicts that the paralogs of CG43324 are Ggamma1 and Ggamma30A. 3. DIOPT predicts that the orthologs of CG43324 are G-protein gamma subunits.
