Description
The Heterotrimeric G-protein gamma subunits (Gγ) associate with Gβ (Gβγ) to form a functional heterodimer. When Gα is bound to GDP, Gβγ associates with Gα to form an heterotrimer (Gαβγ), which prevents Gβγ from activating its effectors. (Adapted from FBrf0209904 and FBrf0183798).
