DT-A(E148D) corresponds to a mutated version of the catalytic A subunit encoded by the Corynephage beta Diphtheria toxin (DT) gene (UniProtKB:P00588), into which a E148D amino acid replacement has been introduced (FBrf0059294). DT-A(E148D) can be used as a cell ablation tool. The mutation results in a toxin has approximately 100-fold lower activity than wild-type DT-A (PMID:1980208).
