mKir2.1 corresponds to the inwardly rectifying potassium channel encoded by the Mus musculus Kcnj2 gene (MGI:104744), with two mutations (E224G and Y242F). It can be used to produce gentle membrane hyperpolarization (14mV on average) and inhibit neuron activity (FBrf0257087).
