Expressed in both the male and female adult hindgut.

In early embryo, only stripes 2, 3, and 7 appear; their appearance is delayed until gastrulation. By extended germband stage, EcollacZ expression is observed in a 7-stripe pattern, but the pattern is slightly abnormal relative to the normal eve pattern.
