A pentamer of a synthetic 29bp oligonucleotide that corresponds to only the 29bp of sequence protected by the gl protein in a DNaseI footprinting assay (GMR) is fused upstream of an Hsp70 promoter followed by lacZ (Ecol\lacZHsp70Bb.HZ50).
