Description

A 2.9kb fragment of sequence from the ph-p regulatory region (coordinates 3467-6272 of FBrf0054014) has been inserted into pP{CaSpeR-AUG-βgal}, in between the w^+mC marker and lacZ reporter sequence. The ph-p sequence does not contain sufficient regulatory sequence to initiate a pattern of lacZ expression that reflects wild-type ph-p expression. Variegated expression of the w^+mC marker is seen in a high proportion of P{418} euchromatic insertion lines.
