A 2.8 kb sna promoter with theproximal-most 180 bp deleted drives EcollacZ expression in a sporadic pattern.The ventral-lateral limits of the expression domain (i.e. an 18-cell-wide band correspondingto the presumptive mesoderm) are not altered, but staining within the domain is sporadic.
