Description

Transgenic construct used to study insulator function. Contains divergently transcribed w and lacZ reporters. Two tandem copies of the 180bp proximal enhancer from the twi promoter (2xPE) and the IAB5 enhancer from the iab-5 region of Abd-B have been inserted between the two reporters (IAB5 is proximal to lacZ). A DNA fragment (PII) from within the transvection mediating region downstream of Abd-B has been inserted in between the 2xPE and IAB5 regulatory sequences.
