Description and Uses
Description

Transgenic construct used to study insulator function. Contains divergently transcribed w and lacZ reporters. Two tandem copies of the 180bp proximal enhancer from the twi promoter (2xPE) and the IAB5 enhancer from the iab-5 region of Abd-B have been inserted between the two reporters (IAB5 is proximal to lacZ). A 1.6kb spacer sequence from λ has been inserted in between the 2xPE and IAB5 regulatory sequences.
