Description

Transgenic construct used to examine the properties of the Mcp element from the bithorax complex. Contains a ftz-lacZ reporter that includes the ftz zebra (Z) enhancer element, plus a w+* minigene, oriented divergently. A 817bp SalI-XbaI fragment (1154-1971) of the Mcp element, spanning the DNAse I-hypersensitive region, has been inserted in between the ftz Z and NE regulatory elements.
