Deletion of about 200bp of Ecol\lacZMef2.-5990:-5180 sequence upstream of and including part of the minimal cardial cell enhancer (-5907/-5670) to produce a -5808 to -5180 bp fragment of the Mef2 5' region. This is fused upstream of a minimal heat shock promoter driving lacZ expression.
