An approximately 2kb fragment of the 5' non coding region of tin (approx -2000 to -1) and a 1.4kb ClaI/NheI fragment that contains intron I and parts of exons I and II also of tin is fused upstream of the Hsp70-TATA-box followed by sequence encoding a lacZ reporter.
